Hong Kong, although small in extent, has great variety in its topography, or the ahape of the land. Although the topography that we see seems to be permanent, it is, in terms of land formation time, only temporary. An impression of the dynamic, temporary nature of the land surface is given by the landslides that we see, or by thesediment being carried downstream in rivers and streams.
