Papers included in this Conference Proceedings relate to the region lying between 75o and 150o longitude, 20o to 50o latitude, and focus principally on the period from the junction of the South Asian Plate with Laurasia, until the end of the Palaeolithic. Scientists from the People"s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, India and Taiwan, together with their colleagues from North America, Europe and Australia, have contributed papers.
Volume I consists of four sections, Geology, Tectonics, Orogeny, Geomorphology; Changes in Coasts and Sea Levels; Palaeoclimate and the Evolution of Modern Climate; Palaeobotany, Palynology and the Evolution of Floras. Volume I & II include papers on, Invertebrate Palaeontology and Oceanography; Palaeonotology and the Evolution of Faunas; Palaeoanthropology and the Environments in which Man Emerged.
