This annotated bibliography examines a wide range of sources, both contemporary and recent, written in English, Chinese and Japanese, that concern Manchuria"s modernization roughly from 1911 through the 1930s. The sources include government records andreports, published recollections and observations, as well as scholarly research and analysis. Scholars will find a guide to topics in need of further study along with discussions of all of the critical interpretive themes relating to research about Manchuria.

Ronald Suleski is a specialist in the history of Manchuria. He obtained his master"s degree and doctoral degree from the University of Michigan. He has written serveral research papers on regional development and Japanese immigrants in Manchuria.
