　　以前在學英文的時候，你有沒有遇過這種狀況：奇怪，明明這些單字的意思我都懂，為什麼把它湊在一起，我就是搞不懂它是什麼意思呢？這時候千萬不要懷疑自己背錯單字、或是懊惱自己單字背得不夠多，這全都是因為文章裡帶有片語的關係。

　　英文中有非常多種不同類型的片語，因此，如果你想要學好英文，那首先就必須先拉近你和片語的距離。究竟什麼是片語呢？片語是指由兩個或兩個以上的單字所組合而成帶有意義的字串，而且在這組字串中，並不會同時包含主詞及動詞，例如：count in（把……算在內）、get in（進到……裡面）、let in（讓……進入、放……進來）等。相反的，如果在一組字串裡，同時包含了主詞及動詞，那我們就可以把它視為一個子句了。

　　所以，如果你想要擁有英文聽、說、讀、寫這四種能力，那片語多背多讀的功夫就一定要徹底執行。多花一點心思，你就能慢慢了解片語的結構、意義和使用的時機，只要多接觸，片語會逐漸成為你生命中的一部分，讓你自然而然就能脫口而出。

　　在書中，我們將片語分為五個Level，而這五個Level所收錄的片語，參考國、高中課本出現的片語，由淺到深，從最簡單的片語開始，再慢慢進入到較為複雜的片語，並在每一個片語下方舉出中英文例句作對照，讓你能更加了解片語的運用方式，用最有效率的片語學習法教你背片語，舉例來說：

　　「in」這個單字本身有「在……之中、在……裡面」的意思，所以 count in是「把……算在裡面」、get in是「進到……裡面」，所以根據這樣的規則，猜猜看let in和show in是什麼意思吧！

　　其實片語在學習英文的過程裡，並沒有想像中的那樣棘手，只要你用最有效率的記憶方式，你也可以隨心所欲運用片語，輕鬆學好英文聽說讀寫喔！
