While the development of the field of Comparative Politics has already reached a mature level in the West, Taiwanese studies on the subject still focus on introducing each countries’ particular governmental institutions, with only a small number of studies truly combining political theories. For this reason, this book will retrace the history of the development of Comparative Politics, introducing various classic works on political theory, as well as the Western democratic political thought of the time to serve as a foundation for further study and provide an entry point into the field of Comparative Politics.
