I have always had aspirations to write a book helping foreigners? learn Chinese, and this particular one is inspired by a book named The Correct Rules of English. This book was extremely helpful to me when I first began learning English, which inspired me to write a book that would be as helpful for foreign Chinese learners.
I have been a Chinese teacher to foreign students for more than twenty years. During the years I have encountered many students from many different countries. However, they have one thing in common, and that is they usually make the same mistakes while speaking Chinese. Sometimes, even advanced students can easily make basic mistakes. Therefore, I have written this book hoping to help these students speak Chinese correctly by contrasting correct and incorrect sentences. I have compiled some of the most common mistakes in the Chinese language and arranged them in an easy-to-follow method to help students avoid making them and speak perfect Chinese.
This is my first time writing a book that deals with details in the complex Chinese language. I have put in my best proof-reading efforts, but there might still be careless mistakes. Please allow me to apologize for them now. All valuable corrections are welcome and greatly appreciated.

編寫這本書已是我多年的心願，之所以有這樣的心願，乃由於一個靈感的驅使，這靈感不是別的，而是一本名為《英語正則》的書。這本書是我學習英文時曾用過的一本好參考書，它讓我日後受用無窮。因此既然這書對我們中國人學英語是如此有用，那麼相反地外國人學習我們的語言時，是否也需要一本類似的書籍呢？
從事華語教學工作二十多年來，有幸接觸來自世界各地的朋友，他們的國籍雖然不同，但是說中國話時，卻都經常犯有相同的錯誤，甚至有的程度已相當高的學生，言談中仍不免會出現一些最基本的錯誤。據此，我用正誤對照方式，把這二十餘年記錄下學生們經常說錯、用錯的語法一一舉出來，加以說明，提供給讀者一種比較學習的方法，加深其印象，以達到不至再犯相同錯誤的效果。
此書係本人初次試寫，缺失自所難免，尚請各位先進前輩多予指教。謝謝！
