二○○五年美國哈佛大學商學院出版了一本暢銷書《藍海策略——開創無人競爭的全新市場》(Blue Ocean Strategy-How to Create Uncontested Market Space and Make the Competition Irrelevant),書中用了許多例子闡明「以競爭為中心」的「紅海策略」,終將不敵「以創新為中心」的「藍海策略」。這本書的作者顯然是用紅海的血色來形容廠商之間以價格戰進行相互廝殺的慘狀,而以藍海的青碧引發讀者大海藍天燦爛前景的聯想,深具創意。
二○○六年德國的知名管理顧問貝哈德也不惶多讓,出版了一本《紅海突圍——看跨國企業如何應用摩西式領導》(Die Moses Methode),書中描述了許多德國企業的轉型實例來說明「摩西領導學」的成功應用。但是《紅海突圍》書中的紅海(the Red Sea)代表的是《聖經》中摩西領導以色列人的〈出埃及記〉,作者用歷史性的神話典故來象徵企業組織轉型的困境,其涵義又比「海水被血染紅」的視覺想像要更深一層了。我閱讀並比對了這兩本書之後,提出一些心得供大家參考。
